Watch For Love's Sake

Days before Christmas 1978, Peter Walker, a young English lay preacher, is killed in a motorcycle accident. His wife Mary, already emotionally fragile, falls into the depths of suicidal depression. As a result she loses custody of her two young boys, Paul and James. The boys are further traumatized as they are taken under the care of the county authorities and placed in a series of children’s homes and in a temporary foster placement with their grandparents. While James clings desperately to his Christian faith and the hope of being reunited with his mother, Paul rebels by fighting and committing petty crimes. Through the intervention of her church community, a dedicated social worker, and a caring Christian therapist (played by Bruce Marchiano), Mary uncovers a flicker of faith, still burning beneath the darkness. As she heals emotionally, hope returns, along with the strength to fight a skeptical bureaucracy for custody of her children. For Love’s Sake offers an honest and emotional glimpse inside a broken family. In their frailty courage comes only through a power beyond themselves. The story powerfully demonstrates that through the healing power of Jesus Christ, no family is beyond hope!

Watch Rebellion of Thought

What is post-modernism? How has it affected our culture? How will it impact our future? What is the role of the Christian church in a post-modern world? Does man truly need God or is God merely a fairytale idea left over from a past cultural experiment? These questions are the launching point for Rebellion of Thought, as filmmakers The Brothers Williamson examine a new generation that refuses to accept authority, code and convention. They probe the impact and consequences of such thinking both for the church and society. So, in the midst of all this, how do believers in Christ express their faith in a compelling, relevant way? What does it mean to love your neighbor as yourself?

Watch Candle in the Dark

William Carey sailed in 1793 to India with a reluctant wife and four children to bring the message of Jesus. There he encountered so much hardship it is amazing he didn’t abandon his mission and go home. But he stayed for over 40 years. One issue that tormented him was sati—the burning alive of widows when their husbands died. He would not rest until this practice was stopped. Facing insurmountable odds, he “plodded” on to influence the abolition of sati and to become the revered “Friend of India” and “Father of Modern Missions.”. He oversaw more translations of the Bible than had been done in all previous Christian history combined. Life was never easy for Carey. But he simply refused to quit, even when a devastating fire destroyed years of his literary work. His legacy has inspired countless others from his own day to the present. William Carey shows dramatically how a life dedicated to God and obedient to His calling can make a profound difference in the world.

Watch The Touch

Hannah Moore knew real life. The daily fight to build an existence on her own terms sustained Hannah and held at bay the grief of being used as a plaything first by her father and then by a succession of boys and men. As far as Hannah knew, this world offers no handouts. Her struggle to find work that wouldn't be affected by a previous stint in prison began to seem an impossible dream. At the same time a nearby church was bitterly divided by a proposal to provide practical assistance and shelter to homeless women. The Touch doesn't sugar-coat the attitudes of those opposed to the project or the difficulties faced during the process of establishing and administering the shelter. Hannah's fighting spirit wouldn't entertain the idea of seeking help at such a place, but after losing hope and trying to finish herself off with a concoction of pills and vodka, Hannah is referred by social services to the church's shelter.
